INVITATION

Dear Colleagues,

The “National Gastroenterology Week,” the most comprehensive and prestigious scientific event organized by the Turkish Society of Gastroenterology, stands as one of the most important academic and professional gatherings in our field. This annual congress brings together gastroenterologists from across Turkey to share knowledge and experience. The 42nd National Gastroenterology Week Congress (42nd NGW 2025) will be held at the Rixos Sungate Hotel in Antalya this year.

The Congress President is Prof. Dr. Dilek OĞUZ, a faculty member of the Department of Gastroenterology at Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine.

Our Congress Secretaries are:

  • Prof. Dr. Özlen ATUĞ, Department of Gastroenterology, Marmara University Faculty of Medicine
  • Prof. Dr. Mehmet ASIL, Department of Gastroenterology, Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Medicine

Our Course Coordinator is:

  • Prof. Dr. Altay ÇELEBİ, Department of Gastroenterology, Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine

Our Assistant Course Coordinator is:

  • Prof. Dr. Salih BOĞA, Gastroenterology Clinic, Istanbul Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital

The organization of our congress is entrusted to GLOBAL Turizm.

The Organizing Committee has already begun preparations for the 42nd NGW 2025 with great enthusiasm. This year’s theme, “Move for Health,” emphasizes the strong connection between physical activity and digestive health. By highlighting the scientific impact of movement on gastrointestinal well-being, this theme also reflects the importance of being active in both professional collaboration and scientific advancement.

Our previous congress was a great success, thanks to its high scientific quality and active participation. Like a relay race, we aim to raise the bar of scientific excellence every year. In line with this goal, a strong academic program is being prepared to share the latest research, clinical practices, and innovative treatment approaches in the field of gastroenterology.

The congress will include a wide range of scientific activities such as panels, conferences, case discussions, interactive sessions, and educational courses. As the Turkish Society of Gastroenterology, one of our main priorities is to support the development of young colleagues and to accompany them on their professional journeys. Therefore, we are planning mentorship programs, educational courses, and sessions specifically designed to support the academic careers of young gastroenterologists.
Supporting the professional development of our members, encouraging scientific productivity, and fostering a strong sense of solidarity among colleagues are among our top goals. Our congress is a unique opportunity not only for scientific exchange but also for building lasting professional relationships.

With the contributions of distinguished national and international speakers, we aim to deliver a congress that is both scientifically enriching and socially engaging. We would be honored to welcome you to this significant gathering, set against the exceptional backdrop of Antalya.
We warmly invite you to the 42nd National Gastroenterology Week Congress, to be held at Rixos Sungate Hotel in Antalya from November 25 to 30, 2025. Let us come together to learn, share, and elevate our profession to new heights.

With kind regards and best wishes,

Prof. Dr. Mehmet CİNDORUK
President of the Turkish Society of Gastroenterology

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to gather with us at the 42nd National Gastroenterology Week, the scientific festival of the Turkish Society of Gastroenterology, which will be held at Rixos Sungate Hotel, Antalya, from November 25 to 30, 2025.
In a world increasingly affected by global warming, environmental pollution, and growing health threats, we asked ourselves: What issues should we emphasize more strongly? As this year’s Congress Organizing Committee, we have chosen the theme “Move for Health” as the central philosophy of our meeting. We believe it is time to emphasize more powerfully that a healthy gastrointestinal system is indispensable for overall human health.

Although it has long been known that every physician is also a preventive physician, we are currently living in an age where treatment often overshadows prevention. In contrast, we see that in developed countries, disease prevention and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are implemented more systematically. While examining diseases holistically and planning treatments has always been our task, it is now evident that we must also take on a proactive role in prevention and health promotion.

Rising trends in obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, diabetes mellitus, inflammatory bowel diseases, and gastrointestinal malignancies require us to develop new and different strategies.

Together with our Congress Secretaries Prof. Dr. Özlen Atuğ and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Asıl, Course Chair Prof. Dr. Altay Çelebi, and Assistant Course Chair Prof. Dr. Salih Boğa, we are preparing to bring you the latest developments in gastroenterology and hepatology. But our ambitions go beyond this: in line with our congress philosophy, we aim to highlight the importance of healthy living not only through the main scientific sessions and educational courses, but also through social activities during the congress, promoting awareness and active engagement.

We are committed to offering a program that leaves a lasting impression. While lectures and courses are vital, the presentation of scientific research—which is sometimes undervalued or losing its momentum—is just as important. To revive the spirit of scientific exchange, where young researchers enthusiastically present their findings and engage with mentors and peers, the Organizing Committee has several plans in place. These will be shared as the program develops.

In a special step this year, we have also decided to actively involve young gastroenterologists in the scientific preparation process itself, giving them a voice in our advisory boards to encourage early academic engagement.

With the support of the TSG Executive Board, which has long recognized the value of international collaboration, we are preparing to host leading international experts in the fields of IBD, liver disease, pancreas, GI endoscopy, and motility. Undoubtedly, the more we increase communication and cooperation, the higher our scientific quality will rise.

Dear colleagues, the five of us have set out on this journey together. As the saying goes:
“He who seeks the flaws within himself finds the truth in his heart.”
We warmly invite you to join us at our gathering—our scientific celebration—the 42nd National Gastroenterology Week, to be held from November 25–30, 2025, in Kemer/Antalya at Rixos Sungate.

Please forgive any missteps in our words in advance, and…

With warmest regards and respect,

Prof. Dr. Dilek OĞUZ
Chairperson of the 42nd National Gastroenterology Week Congress
